Petty Officer 2nd Class Freddy Cruz from Queens NY and Petty
officer Third Class John Blundell from Westchester called into
WVOX from the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln on duty in
the Arabian Sea.
The sailors expressed appreciation to the Westchester County
and Hudson Valley area Girl Scouts who in June sent 40,000
boxes of Girl Scout cookies to service men and women now
deployed overseas in the Middle East. Several thousand boxes
of Girl Scout cookies were distributed as part of a "Steel Beach"
recreation event held on board the USS Abraham Lincoln.
