Assemblywoman Amy Paulin is now serving her third term as representative of the
88th New York State Assembly District, having been first elected in November,
2000.
A full time legislator, Amy is a strong advocate for the people of the 88th district,
which includes Scarsdale, Eastchester, Tuckahoe, Bronxville, Pelham, Pelham
Manor, and parts of New Rochelle and White Plains.
She is one of the Legislature’s most active members, sponsoring 18 bills that were
signed into law during the past year, which puts her in the top 5% percent of
Assembly members.
Amy believes her most important accomplishments of the current term were
eliminating or reducing several state taxes, increasing aid to public schools to help
keep property taxes down, and preserving the viability of the Westchester Medical
Center.
Assemblywoman Paulin was also instrumental in eliminating the statute of
limitations for rape and other sexual crimes, and authored a key report on child
fatalities that led to legislation to help prevent deaths from child abuse.
The former Director of My Sisters’ Place, a non-profit agency that assists victims of
Domestice Violence, Amy Paulin has long been an advocate for the needs of
women and children. She help found the Westchester Domestic Violence Council
and obtained vital funding for day care and neighborhood health centers. She has
been active on the environment, human rights, and community affairs.
Assemblywoman Paulin currently serves on the Assembly’s Standing Committees
on Children and Families, Education, Health, Higher Education, and Veterans’
Affairs and the Majority Steering Committee and last year was appointed chair of
the Task Force on People with Disabilities.

State University of New York at Albany and holds a Master’s degree and has
completed doctoral course work in Criminal Justice from SUNY-Albany.
