The SAL of Westchester County welcomed National Commander Earl Ruttkofsky
from Michigan to New York City for NYC Fleet Week. Commander Ruttkofsky was
given a tour of Ground Zero, Wall Street, and the South Street Seaport before
being flown by US Navy helicopter to the USS Wasp which was approaching NYC
harbor. During an overnight visit to the ship he was given a complete tour and sat
in on a briefing session given by the Captain. Here he is pictured on the flight
deck of the USS Wasp as the aircraft carrier sailed up the Hudson River.with NYS
SAL Commander Al Deichler, NYS Auxiliary President Joan C. Caccamo, and NYS
American Legion Commander James Casey.
