Jim V. O’Connor—Author and Producer
This is Jim’s premiere production of "Literary Disruption". He made his New York debut with
Christmas Guest in 2009 in the MITF where the play was nominated for best actor and best
supporting actress in the festival. Jim and the cast of Christmas Guest were invited to perform
at the Players Club in December 2009 where Jim also directed the play.
He has directed his one act play "Proceed to Checkout" in the Where Eagles Dare Short
Subject festival in 2009. A former journalist, Jim wrote for The New York Times, Investor’s
Business Daily, and other publications. He has covered a wide range of topics ranging from
peace negotiations between warring street gangs in Yonkers to ‘lifers’ raising guide dog
puppies at Bedford Hills Correctional Center.
Jim holds a PhD in mass media and communication from Temple University, and is professor of
writing and communication at Delaware Valley College in Delaware Valley College in
Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
He is a Graduate of VMI and a former US Army officer Field Artillery 3-35th served in Germany

The story describes Interactions within a college faculty department. Trust and ideals collide
with the deceit of a predatory stranger. A play that rips the cloak of intellectual naivety from the
ivory tower of academic life. A college English department is forced to question their Utopian
world view when a new professor exposes their impressionable under belly to the ruthlessness
of the con.
