1460 AM in Westchester County and around the world on WVOX.com.   The show is
held on the first, third, fourth and (Fifth) Tuesdays of each month from 2:30 to 3:00 PM.

The host of the program is Kenneth G. Kraetzer, Commander of Sons of the American
Legion in Pelham, NY; Vice Commander for Westchester County, and Vice Commander

Captain Al Eskalis currently serves as the commanding officer, Marine Detachment Fort
Meade at the Defense Information School.

Captain Eskalis was born in Alexandria, Egypt, but spent his formative years in northern
New Jersey. He entered the Marine Corps in September 1988 and attended recruit
training at MCRD Parris Island. He attained the rank of gunnery sergeant prior to his
commissioning in 2000. His previous assignment was the academic director of the Public
Affairs Leadership Department, DINFOS. His earlier assignments include:

• Public Affairs Officer, 3rd Marine Air Wing, Miramar, Calif.
•Public Affairs Officer, 3rd Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan
•Instructor, Broadcast Operations, DINFOS, Fort Meade, Md.
•Operations Chief, Armed Forces Network, Okinawa, Japan
•Press Chief, Marine Corps Combat Development Command, Quantico, Va.
•Bureau Chief, 3d Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan
•Combat Correspondent, MAG-13, MCAS Yuma, Az.

In support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Capt. Eskalis deployed as the Media Officer for I
Marine Expeditionary Force in Kuwait and Iraq in 2003 and later as the 3rd Marine Air
Wing public affairs officer in 2004.

He is a graduate of the Marine Corps University’s Sergeants’ Course, SNCO Career
Course, and Expeditionary Warfare School (NR). He also graduated from the DINFOS
Basic Journalist Course, Basic Broadcasters Course, Intermediate Photojournalism
Course, Editors’ Course, and the University of Oklahoma’s Joint Course in
Communication and DoD’s Strategic Communication Workshop. Capt Eskalis is currently
a graduate student at the University of Maryland University College, pursuing an MBA
and MSM in public relations and is enrolled in Command and Staff College (NR).

His personal decorations include: the Joint Service Commendation Medal, three Navy
and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, Joint Service Achievement Medal, two Navy
Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Army Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation
Medal, and the Office of Secretary of Defense Badge.

Capt. Eskalis currently holds a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program Black Belt.
He has been married to Lourdes Eskalis for 17 years, and they have one son, Ryan, and
twin daughters, Rebecca and Ashley.
