August 15th.  John Chuhran interviewed a US Army official about the 25th Anniversary of
the Morale, Recreation and Welfare program which has improved the quality of life for US
Army members and their families and has benefited reenlistments.  

August 8th, local sailors from the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln now stationed in the
Middle East will call into say "Thank You" to the local Girl Scouts who sent over 40,000 boxes of
cookies in June.

Aug, 1st  The 60th anniversary of the President Truman's Executive Order integrating the US
military was discussed with special guests 34 year US Army veteran

Adams-Ender
calling in from Virginia and former NY State Commander of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars, Commander Melvin Garrett
of New Rochelle.










July 25th,
Dru Anne Neil of the Gettysburg Foundation described the new visitors center which
opened this year and many of the other ways visitors can learn about the decisive Civil War
battle fought in this Pennsylvania village just two hours driving from Philadelphia.

July 18th,
Ralph Mianti described the American Legion Baseball program and called for
programs to be started in Westchester.

July 11th,
Westchester Girl Scouts and their leaders who sent 40,000 boxes of cookies to US
military members in the middle east were the special guests. Pelham native, now Central
Command staffer Col. Roland Tiso describes the appreciation of soldiers receiving support from
the public while they are deployed. The 30 year US Army veteran describes his forthcoming book.

July 4th:  A special expanded edition of the veterans hour starting at 6:45 AM and running
through 9  AM featured call-ins by seven members of the New York National Guard stationed in
Afghanistan.  A sailor and a US Army 2LT called in from Iraq.  Several other military veterans also
called in to describe there military experiences and be recognized for their service on the holiday..
