AMERICAN LEGION POST 50 SWEARS IN NEW OFFICERS

Pelham, NY June 14, 2008.  On Friday evening, June 13, 2008, Pelham Post 50 of the American
Legion held its annual Swearing-In Ceremony at the Pelham Town House, to present the new
officers for the 2008-2009 year and to thank those officers completing the current one year term.
 
The ceremony was conducted before Legionnaires, family and friends.  Outgoing Commander
Phil Perrorazio, who completed a two year term in that position, opened the ceremony,
introducing Past Commander Joe Hall who read the oath to the new officers. The 2008-2009
officers sworn in were:   

                          Commander:  Frank Barbieri

                          First Vice-Commander:  Bob McLaughlin

                          Second Vice-Commander  Chuck Amann

                          Adjutant:  Scott McGuirk

                          Treasurer:  Bob Lepple

                           Sergeant-at-Arms:  Ron Giustino

                           Chaplain:  Frank Zumpano

Following the reading of the oath, newly sworn-in Commander Barbieri thanked and saluted Past
Commander Phil Perrorazio and the outgoing officers for their dedicated and selfless service to
the members of Post 50, to our active members of the Armed Forces, to our veterans and to the
Pelham Community.  Commander Barbieri pledged to build upon the service initiative of his
predecessors and to bring continued emphasis to "service" to our veterans.  He indicated his
desire to organize activities that will foster the remembrances of the valiant and noble sacrifices
being made today worldwide by our Armed Forces and that were made in the past by all
veterans, to foster and preserve the freedom and liberty which we enjoy today.

Membership in the American Legion, founded in 1919, is open to active duty members of the
Armed Forces and those citizens of the United States of America who served on active duty in
the military forces during defined periods of hostilities.  Post 50 welcomes and encourages
