Franklin Crumble Fairchild, beloved son of the Hon. Benjamin L. Fairchild and the
late Anna Crumble, suddenly Feb. 23, 1918 at Aviation Field, Fort Worth Texas, in the
service of his country, age 23.

Frederick C. Gerloff, of North Pelham was listed as one of 3,485 casualties in The
New York Times
on December 22, 1918.  This report brought the total casualties in
WWI for the Army and Marine Corps. to 191,204. (Nov. 30, 2007)

Stories of Pelham Residents who Died during the Spanish-American War:

Pvt. Harry D. Patterson,
a native of North Pelham, NY; was the son of Judge and
Mrs. Edward Patterson.  He was a member of Company G, of the 8th New York
Volunteer Infantry..   He died on August 28, 1898 and was buried at the
Chattanooga National Cemetery, Chattanooga, TN Plot S 13250.  The New York
