Captain Robert Zizolfo’s Biography
Captain Robert Zizolfo was appointed the Base Operations Officer for Camp Smith Training
Site, in Cortlandt Manor, New York on December 12, 2008, a facility serving the New York
National Guard.
Prior to this assignment, Captain Zizolfo was assigned as the Logistics Officer, 369th
Sustainment Brigade Early Entry Element, where he ensured that critical equipment
requirements were resourced and fulfilled for several New York Army National Guard units that
deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
Captain Zizolfo deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2004 to 2006, where he
commanded the 145th Maintenance Company and three operationally-controlled elements.
He directed a force of over 300 Soldiers at seven separate operating bases in Iraq, and
provided logistical maintenance support to U.S. and multi-national coalition forces.
The Captain’s military service began in 1993 as an enlisted Soldier in the New York Army
National Guard. He was commissioned in 1995 at the United States Army Officer Candidate
School in Fort Benning, Georgia.
Captain Zizolfo’s military awards include: the Bronze Star Medal, Army Achievement Medal,
Reserve Components Achievement Medal (with oak-leaf clusters), National Defense Service
Medal (with bronze service star), Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism
Service Medal,
